Katrina faces backlash over silence on CJP protests, fan page shuts down

Katrina Kaif faces backlash over silence on CJP protests as fan page with 70K followers shuts down

Katrina Kaif faces backlash from fans over her silence on CJP protests, with fan page ‘katholic_fans’ shutting down, calling her out for lacking “the spine to speak for Indians.” While some fans defended her right to choose, celebs like Shabana Azmi, Preity Zinta, and Sonu Sood have voiced support.

Katrina Kaif has found herself at the centre of a social media controversy after one of her prominent fan pages announced its closure over the actress’ silence on the ongoing Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led student protests against the alleged NEET paper leak and education reforms. The fan page, which had over 70,000 followers, accused the actor of failing to speak up on an issue affecting Indian students, sparking a wave of mixed reactions online. While some users applauded the admin’s decision, others defended Katrina’s right to remain silent, arguing that celebrities are under no obligation to comment on every public issue.

Katrina Kaif fan page’s statement on shutting down

In their statement, the fan page wrote, “I have been your fan since childhood, but you can’t say a word for us Indians and students who love you from the bottom of our hearts. You don’t have the spine to speak against the government. You betrayed us when we supported you at your lowest. I am unfollowing you and closing this fan page. You don’t deserve it.”

Social media users react to the decision

As reported in News18, the post drew reactions from several social media users, many of whom praised the decision. “Respect for the admin,” one user wrote, while another added, “I am glad you’re closing fan page.”At the same time, some of Katrina Kaif’s fans came to her defence, arguing that she has every right to choose what she supports. One fan wrote, “If you live in a democracy, so does she. If you can choose what you want to support, so can she. And if you can’t support her for what she chooses to support, even if you completely disagree, you were never a true fan. Also, stop blackmailing people over who they support. She’s an adult, and she knows what’s right and what’s wrong.”

Other Bollywood celebs who have voiced out their support to the ongoing movement

It’s worth noting that while Katrina Kaif has so far remained silent on the ongoing CJP protests, several other Bollywood celebrities including Shabana Azmi, Preity Zinta, Riteish Deshmukh, Sonu Sood, Sonakshi Sinha, and Prakash Raj, have openly voiced their support for the students. Go to Source
