NEW DELHI: Two protesters injured on Monday remained hospitalised on Tuesday, with the rest being discharged. While a 21-year-old woman on ventilator support at RML Hospital is showing signs of improvement, doctors said she continues to be in critical condition, and it is too early to make any prognosis.Another protester, Sheikh Irshad, underwent surgery at Lady Hardinge Medical College to remove a pellet lodged in his left eye. Doctors said another injured protester, identified as Sahil, who is suspected to have sustained a serious eye injury, reached LHMC and was later referred to AIIMS for specialised treatment.Nadda meets injured at hospitalsUnion health minister J P Nadda visited both hospitals during the day to assess the condition of the injured.Doctors at RML Hospital said the 21-year-old woman, identified as Sakshi, continued to require ventilator support but had shown signs of clinical improvement since admission.Hospital officials said all other injured protesters brought to RML had been discharged after treatment. Most had suffered minor injuries, including bruises, cuts to the forehead and lips, and chest injuries.At Lady Hardinge Medical College, doctors said Sheikh Irshad, believed to be around 25 years old, underwent successful surgery on Tuesday to remove a pellet that had entered his left eye. He was stable after the procedure but may remain under observation for another two to three days. Irshad’s case came into focus after Cockroach Janta Party chief spokesperson Saurav Das shared a video on X showing Irshad in hospital.
