Top romantic K-dramas to watch on date night: 'Can This Love Be Translated?', 'Filing for Love' and more

The right K-drama on date night does not just fill the silence; it creates the kind of atmosphere where two people lean a little closer, laugh at the same moments, and end up talking long after the episode ends. Here are eight of the newest and most romantic K-dramas that are practically built for an evening like that.

‘Can This Love Be Translated?’ (2026)

Seven languages and not one of them is the language of love. Kim Seon-ho plays Joo Ho-jin, a polyglot interpreter whose carefully ordered life falls apart the moment he meets Cha Mu-hee, a globally famous actress played by Go Youn-jung, and the two are thrown together across Japan, Italy, Canada, and South Korea in a slow, reluctant unravelling of feelings that neither of them saw coming. It is one of the warmest K-dramas of the year, and it is on Netflix.

‘Filing for Love’ (2026)

If you thought auditing could never be romantic, ‘Filing for Love’ is here to prove you completely wrong. Shin Hye-sun and Gong Myoung play two auditors digging into a suspicious set of financial records that becomes far more complicated and far more personal than either of them expected, with the intellectual sparring between them building into exactly the kind of slow burn that makes the eventual payoff feel completely earned. It is on Viki and one of the most satisfying workplace romances in recent K-drama memory.

‘Spring Fever’ (2026)

Period romance at its most lush and combustible. Son Ye-jin plays Madam Jo, a brilliantly charming woman chafing against the restrictions of Joseon-era Korea, who sets a deliberately provocative bet with Jo Won, played by Ji Chang-wook, a man who does not believe in love, only to find that the game has rules neither of them anticipated. Every episode ends on exactly the kind of note that makes it impossible to stop, and the whole series is on Prime Video.

‘When the Phone Rings’ (2024)

It starts as a thriller and slowly, almost without you noticing, becomes one of the most emotionally charged love stories of recent K-drama memory. Yoo Yeon Seok and Chae Soo Bin play a couple who married out of obligation and have been living as polite strangers, until an anonymous threatening phone call forces them into danger and, unexpectedly, into finally seeing each other for the first time. The push and pull between them is the kind of thing that makes you hold your breath between episodes, and all twelve are on Netflix.

‘Perfect Crown’ (2025)

What if Korea had a royal family, and what if a chaebol heiress fell for the crown prince? IU plays Seong Hui-ju with a luminous, deeply felt quality that makes every moment of the central love story feel genuinely charged, and the alternate-history setting gives the show a dreamy, otherworldly atmosphere that is unlike anything else in the genre right now. For a date night that wants to feel a little different, it is all on Netflix.

‘Love Scout’ (2025)

No grand gestures, no misunderstandings dragged out for ten episodes. Han Ji-min and Lee Joon-hyuk play a CEO and her single-father secretary who fall for each other so quietly and so gradually that by the time the feelings are out in the open, you realise you have been watching it happen for weeks without either of them saying a word. It is on Netflix and the perfect watch for a date night that wants something that feels genuinely real.

‘My Royal Nemesis’ (2026)

A modern woman, a Joseon villainess, and one shared body. Lim Ji-yeon plays Shin Seo-ri, whose ordinary life is upended when the spirit of the fierce and formidable Kang Dan-sim from the Joseon dynasty takes up residence inside her, leading to a wildly entertaining identity crisis that also, somehow, becomes a love story. The show is funny and romantic in equal measure, and Lim Ji-yeon’s ability to shift between two completely different women in the same scene makes it one of the most purely enjoyable watches of the year on Netflix.

‘See You At Work Tomorrow!’ (2026)

The cold boss, the overlooked employee, the office that slowly becomes the most charged place either of them has ever been. Seo In-guk plays Kang Si-woo with a precision and restrained charm that makes every small crack in his composure feel like a genuine victory, while Park Ji-hyun’s Cha Ji-yeon quietly refuses to disappear into the background of her own story. The show delivers every romantic beat it promises, and it is all on Prime Video. Go to Source
