A video featuring actor-politician Vijay has gone viral across social media platforms, with several users claiming that it shows him arriving at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. The clip shows Vijay walking through a large gathering while police personnel and security officials escort him through the crowd.The viral footage quickly caught the attention of social media users. Many believed that Vijay had travelled to the protest site in the national capital, leading to speculation about a possible political move.The viral post also included a Hindi text overlay that further fuelled the discussion. It read, “Thalapathy Vijay arrives in Delhi! Speculation about a new political strategy intensifies as soon as he reaches Jantar Mantar.”
Delhi Police issues a fact check
The claim was later addressed by the Delhi Police, which clarified that the information circulating online was incorrect.The official post stated, “Fact check This information is false. The video being circulated is not from Jantar Mantar, New Delhi. Please do not spread or amplify false or misleading information. @_Attitude_Vini.”

Following the police response, it became clear that the widely circulated claim was false. Although the video genuinely featured Vijay moving through a crowd, there was no evidence to support the assertion that the footage was recorded at Jantar Mantar.
Focus shifts to ‘Jana Nayagan’
On the work front, Vijay is preparing for the theatrical release of his upcoming film ‘Jana Nayagan’. Directed by H. Vinoth, the film features music composed by Anirudh Ravichander.The film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on July 23. Reports suggest that it will be released in nearly 3,000 theatres worldwide, including around 950 screens across Tamil Nadu. Advance bookings have already opened in Karnataka and Kerala, while audiences in Tamil Nadu are waiting for ticket sales to begin.Ahead of the film’s release, reports indicate that exhibitors have been given specific instructions regarding ticket pricing and audience eligibility. According to reports, theatre owners have reportedly been directed not to sell tickets above the government-approved rates. The move is said to have been taken to avoid complaints or unnecessary controversy during the film’s release.Since ‘Jana Nayagan’ has received an ‘A’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), theatres have also reportedly been reminded to strictly follow the certification rules.
