Madhya Pradesh: Police End Cheeta Protest in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur

Police and district authorities have ended the ongoing Cheeta protest in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur by detaining the movement’s leader, Amit Bhatnagar, along with other protesters. The demonstration had been underway since 3 July, with participants alleging large-scale corruption and violations of legal procedures in the Ken–Betwa Link Project. Protesters were demanding an independent investigation into the alleged irregularities and had been staging a continuous agitation to press their demands. According to the report, police intervened early in the morning and removed the protesters from the site, effectively bringing the protest to an end.
