Samay Raina and his show ‘India’s Got Latent’ are not new to the storm of controversies. Though so far the show and participants have tried not to escalate any matter to add to the legal woes, it has been noted that a Bihar-based contestant has drawn widespread criticism after introducing herself as a “man-hater” on ‘India’s Got Latent’ Season 2. During her audition, she made several controversial remarks about men, marriage, and her family, which hasn’t gone down well with the internet audience. Read below to know what happened

‘India’s Got Latent’ and the contestant who introduced herself as a ‘man-hater’

During the third episode of the latest season, a contestant, Sakshi Jha, introduced herself as a ‘man-hater ‘. Her audition clip is circulating across social media platforms. On the one hand, where she openly described herself as a “man-hater,” on the other hand, her Instagram bio further echoed the same sentiment. Her bio reads, “Patriarchy’s worst nightmare.” During her stint on the show, she revealed that her boyfriend had cheated on her.And the negative comments against men didn’t stop there. She made another controversial statement about her future. “Pati ko daru pi ke marna hai, (want to beat my husband after having alcohol),” she wrote as part of her answer. Jha then claimed to dislike the men of her family, including her own father and brother. Her words left the panel comprising Samay Raina, Tanmay Bhat, Vishal Dadlani, Raghu Ram and Yashraj Mehra unimpressed. It was the first time in the history of Latent that the panel unanimously gave a contestant zero. Interestingly, despite the zero from the panel, Sakshi rated her performance an eight. At one point, Samay asked her, “Who hurt you yaar?” and she replied, “Mens.” Samay, being Samay, responded, “This is why we say, ‘Educate girl child,'”As the conversation continued, Samay asked the audience to give their verdict, which didn’t differ from the panel’s score.

Internet reacts over Sakshi Jha’s ‘Man-Hater’ introduction and segment

Following her performance, social media users flooded the comment sections with mixed reactions. Jha received massive backlash for her comments, but many internet users also commented on the nature of the show. One X user posted, “Man hater girl from Bihar disowned her own father on India’s Got Latent just for some attentionTanmay: How about your father, he’s also a man naSakshi: I told him, I genuinely hate him ewwwwwHer mental condition was so bad that even the women on the show gave her 0 marks, let alone the whole panel. Samay Raina, Tanmay and Raghu cooked her well” Another post read, “Women like her are the reason why men are not safe in India- She hates all men.

  • She hates her father.
  • She hates her brother.
  • She hates her grandfather. She said that her goal is to beat her husband with a belt after getting drunk. She is also racist because she said Samay Raina looks good to her just because he is fair.Respect to the panel because the entire panel gave her 0 points on India’s Got Latent (© – Netflix / Samay Raina YT)

“After watching Sakshi Jha on The Latent, I’d just like to say on behalf of all women, we’re sorry. And no, we don’t all hate our dads,” mentioned a netizen. Here’s another post from an internet user:“This 18-year-old girl, Sakshi Jha, from Bihar who claims to be a teacher, HAS A DESIRE TO BEAT UP HER HUSBAND WITH A BELT AFTER GETTING DRUNKTHE ONLY TALENT SHE HAS IS “HATING MENS”She hates her father, grandfather & even brotherThere is no NATIONAL COMMISSION FOR MEN IN INDIA to take suo moto cognizance of MISANDRY or public claim of wanting to be a man-beaterI actually thank this woman for going on such a popular platform & exposing TOXIC FEMINISM so wellWon’t be surprised if she k*lls a man in future. If a man expressed his desire to beat up a woman on stage like this, it won’t be taken as a Joke. He would be thrown out of the show after the first line itself. But she was allowed to express herself fully. Unfortunately, she will be rewarded with many more followers & maybe even brand collabs.EQUALITY” Some internet users are even claiming that if such comments had been made by a man against a woman, people would have urged legal action, and the person would have been behind bars already.
