Shaji Kailas says ‘Narasimham’ re-release should be only for charity; ‘It should not be released otherwise’

Director Shaji Kailas has shared his thoughts on the much-discussed possibility of a re-release of ‘Narasimham’, the blockbuster Malayalam film starring Mohanlal. The filmmaker said he does not support bringing the movie back to theatres as a regular release, as he believes the film has already reached almost every Malayali audience.Shaji Kailas says there is no Malayali who hasn’t watched ‘Narasimham’As reported by Reporter website, speaking about the possibility of a theatrical re-release, Shaji Kailas said that he does not feel a normal re-release is necessary because audiences have already watched the film multiple times. The director said, “I don’t think Narasimham should be re-released. My belief is that there is no Malayali who hasn’t watched the film. People have watched it repeatedly so many times. Antony told me that Narasimham has been prepared in 4K.”According to Shaji Kailas, the popularity of the film remains strong even years after its original release. However, he feels that bringing it back to theatres should have a meaningful purpose rather than being only a commercial event.Director suggests charity-based screeningShaji Kailas revealed that he suggested a charity initiative if the film is brought back to theatres. He explained that the re-release could be used as an opportunity to support people in need.He added, “I told Antony that if it is being done, it should be for a charity purpose. For example, money could be raised for cancer patients. Put Narasimham in premium theatres with premium ticket prices and generate funds. I told him that it should not be released otherwise.”The filmmaker said that such an initiative would allow the film to create a positive impact beyond entertainment. He believes a charity screening would make the re-release more meaningful for audiences as well as beneficiaries.Antony Perumbavoor responds positively to the ideaSharing details about his conversation with producer Antony Perumbavoor, Shaji Kailas said the idea of using the film for charity received a positive response. He stated, “Let it benefit a few people.
