However, according to the latest reports, the woman failed to show up at the trial hearing, which had now resulted in a postponement of the matter. It was also revealed that she failed to appear at the rescheduled hearing as well.

According to online reports shared by Korea JoongAng Daily, the woman, who had been accused of harassing the eldest member of the pop group at a fan event more than two years ago, skipped out on the hearing that was held on Tuesday this week.The Seoul Eastern District Court held the case this week for the woman who was being charged on the grounds of forcible indecency. However, the Japanese national did not show up for the hearing at the given time. Chief Judge Lee Ji Min, however, postponed the hearing due to the failure to show up and due to an unclear statement provided online.

Japanese national fails to show up at postponed trial hearing

While the official date of postponement was set for July 16, the accused yet again failed to show up in court for the case. Seoul Economic Daily reported on the matter and shared that since the woman has yet again refused to show up in court, the case has to be postponed until further notice.A statement from the court read, “Given that A failed to appear for a second time following the 14th, it is difficult to proceed with the trial in her absence. We will postpone and schedule a new date later.”

More than two years ago, BTS’ eldest member, Kim Seokjin, had held a small and private fan meeting to meet them up close and personal. While most fans were permitted to quickly greet him and hug him, the woman went in for a hug and ended up kissing the idol on his cheek. Photos and videos of the event went viral at the time, with many people calling for action against the woman.After a thorough and voluntary investigation involving Interpol, a case was further developed, and she was referred to the prosecutors.
