Marathi actors Adinath Kothare and Urmila Kanetkar have announced that they are parting ways after almost 15 years of marriage. The couple took to social media on July 16 to share a joint statement, revealing that the decision was made mutually and amicably. They also reassured everyone that their daughter, Jizah, will remain their highest priority as they continue to co-parent her together.In their heartfelt note, the duo requested privacy during this phase of their lives. Their statement read, “To our friends, media, and well-wishers, after much thought and consideration, Urmilla Kanetkar and I, Addinath M. Kothare, have mutually and amicably decided to part ways as partners. While our journey as a couple has ended, our commitment to our daughter, Jizah, remains absolute. She is our utmost priority. We are happily and dedicatedly co-parenting her to ensure she grows up surrounded by love, security, and support.”The statement further added, “In this spirit, we kindly request our friends in the media and the public to respect our privacy. This will be our only statement on this matter, and we will not be commenting further. Thank you for your continued warmth and understanding.”Adinath and Urmila’s relationship began in 2006 when they met on the sets of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. Directed by Adinath’s father, Mahesh Kothare, the film also marked Urmila’s acting debut. After several years together, the couple got married in 2011 and welcomed their daughter, Jizah, in 2018.Over the years, Urmila Kanetkar has established herself with memorable performances in films such as Duniyadari, Mala Aai Vhhaychy! and Ti Saddhya Kay Karte, while also working in Hindi and Telugu cinema.
