‘Lenin’ box office collections day 6: Akhil Akkineni film drops 28.3%; Earns Rs 2.15 cr on Wednesday

Akhil Akkineni’s latest action drama ‘Lenin’ witnessed another decline in collections on its sixth day at the box office. The film, which opened to decent numbers, has now entered its first weekday cycle and is seeing the expected slowdown.According to Sacnilk, ‘Lenin’ earned an estimated Rs 2.15 crore net in India on its first Wednesday. The latest figure marks a 28.3% decline compared to Tuesday’s Rs 3.00 crore net collection.

India collections cross Rs 34 crore after six days

The film was screened across 2,166 shows on Day 6. With Wednesday’s earnings included, ‘Lenin’ has now collected Rs 34.20 crore in India net collections.Its India gross collection has simultaneously climbed to Rs 39.24 crore.

Worldwide gross inches closer to the Rs 50 crore milestone

The film also continued its overseas run on Wednesday. It added an estimated Rs 35 lakhs from international markets.This takes Lenin’s overseas gross to Rs 9.15 crore after six days in theatres. The film’s worldwide gross collection now stands at Rs 48.39 crore.

Occupancy remains above 22%

The Telugu version of ‘Lenin’ registered an overall occupancy of 22.23% on Wednesday.Morning shows recorded 18.85% occupancy. Afternoon shows improved to 23.15%. Evening shows registered 19.85%, while night shows witnessed the highest footfall of the day at 24.15%.Karnataka added Rs 15 lakhs while Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 2 lakhs. The rest of India accounted for another Rs 3 lakhs in gross collections.

Story of ‘Lenin’

The film is set in the fictional village of Bharatham Mitta in Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district. ‘Lenin’ follows the journey of an orphan who is raised by village head Jayyamma. As he grows up he falls in love with Bharathi. What initially appears to be a straightforward village drama gradually unfolds into a story of betrayal, revenge and hidden truths.
