Zach John King writes a poignant note to announce his father’s demise

Zach John King expressed his disheartened feelings on his social media handle on July 14, 2026. “Friday my dad suddenly went home to Jesus. He was our family’s rock. My best friend. The greatest man I will ever know,” the ‘Just Missed You’ singer wrote, before adding, “John King was the kind of husband, father, grandfather, friend, and follower of Jesus you’ll only find once in a lifetime. Those that knew him knew his eyes were never fixed on this weary world. It used to frustrate me how joyful he could be even in the worst moments of life.”Revealing the unexpected passing, King said his father departed in the blink of an eye. “We wanted 25 more years with him, and that pain will cut deep for the rest of my life,” he wrote. Furthermore, the ‘Wannebe Cowboy’ singer cancelled the shows following the tragedy to grieve with his family. “After that, imma do what my dad would want me to do and get back to work,” he penned. Concluding the heartfelt note, King wrote the quote his father said on the day of his demise: “Today is the day the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it,” he said, adding, “I love you, dad. I’ll see you soon.”
