'Mysskin stood tall despite every betrayal,' director Ram's bold speech wins hearts at 'Train' event

It was an emotional night for Ram at the ‘Train’ teaser launch with a touching speech for his good friend and director Mysskin and Vijay Sethupathi. The event celebrated the first glimpse of the film, but Ram chose to speak about the struggles that Mysskin had undergone over the past few years and the strength that kept him going. His words received loud applause from the audience, making his speech one of the most memorable moments of the launch.

Ram praises Mysskin’s filmmaking style

Reflecting on Mysskin’s journey, as reported by Cinema Vikatan, Ram said, “Psycho is the last released film of Mysskin. Six years ago, the audio launch of ‘Psycho’ happened. He completed ‘Pisaasu 2’ and ‘Train’ during this period, while another project is yet to be completed. He said, “He’s had betrayals, disappointments, false accusations, and a thousand humiliations in his career as a filmmaker trying to get his movies made. Any normal person would have disappeared after facing so much pain at once.” But Mysskin put all that aside and stood tall. It is his faith in people that is unshakeable. “Even after so many wounds, he continues to love people, and that has kept him alive in cinema.”

Ram calls Mysskin the master of Tamil thrillers

Ram also spoke about Mysskin’s unique storytelling style and the impact of his films. “You can confidently call Mysskin the master of thrillers in Tamil cinema. Except for ‘Nandalala,’ almost all of his films belong to the thriller genre,” he said. Explaining what makes the filmmaker different, Ram noted that Mysskin never treats crime as mere entertainment. Instead, he explores the emotions and circumstances behind every character, making audiences empathise even with those who commit crimes. It is this very depth that Ram sees as the defining quality of Mysskin’s cinema in relation to other typical thriller movies.

High hopes for Vijay Sethupathi and Mysskin’s first collaboration

Ram concluded his speech by stating that much was expected from the collaboration between Vijay Sethupathi and Mysskin. Ram clearly liked Vijay Sethupathi’s versatility in making both entertaining and content-based movies such as ‘Pizza’, ‘Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom’, ‘Naanum Rowdy Dhaan’, and ‘Maharaja’. According to Ram, this combination makes ‘Train’ highly anticipated. Go to Source
