The Conjuring: Last Rites box office collection Day 5: Vera Farmiga-Patrick Wilson starrer maintains lead over 'Baaghi 4'; crosses Rs 60 crore mark in India

‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ continues to dominate the Indian box office, maintaining its stronghold over domestic releases and racing past major milestones within its first week.

Strong Tuesday performance

Directed by Michael Chaves and starring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson, the horror franchise finale continued its undisputed run on Tuesday. According to early estimates by Sacnilk, the film collected around Rs 5.68 crore, registering a 13.6% growth compared to Monday’s Rs 5 crore tally. This steady weekday performance follows a record-breaking debut weekend, when the film amassed Rs 50.5 crore net in just three days. As per official figures, ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ has now reached Rs 61.18 crore net and Rs 60.40 crore gross in India across 2,130 screens, making it the biggest opening weekend ever for a Hollywood horror film in the country.

Franchise records

The latest instalment is now inching closer to surpassing ‘The Conjuring 2’, which has long held the record as the highest-grossing Hollywood horror film in India with a collection of Rs 61.80 crore. Earlier this year, ‘Final Destination Bloodlines’ overtook it with Rs 62.12 crore.

Gross collections

By Day 5, the film’s gross collection has touched Rs 67.5 crore.

Language-wise collection breakdown

Language-wise, the English version contributed Rs 33.34 crore, followed by the Hindi dub with Rs 24.38 crore. The Tamil and Telugu versions added Rs 2.51 crore and Rs 95 lakh, bringing regional dubs to a combined Rs 3.46 crore.

Competition from Bollywood releases

At the domestic box office, ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ has outperformed competitors despite stiff clashes. Tiger Shroff’s ‘Baaghi 4’ currently stands at Rs 39.75 crore after five days, while Vivek Agnihotri’s ‘The Bengal Files’ has earned Rs 9.19 crore. Despite both films witnessing weekday drops, the Hollywood horror title has managed to maintain its lead.

Triumph at the global box office

On the global front, ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ shattered records, delivering the biggest global debut for a horror film in history. The ninth entry in Warner Bros. and New Line’s supernatural universe grossed $194 million worldwide in its opening weekend, surpassing the $190 million benchmark set by ‘It’ back in 2017.Of this, $110 million came from overseas markets, marking a record-setting international debut for the genre. With more than $2.3 billion earned across its franchise, including ‘The Nun’ and ‘Annabelle’, it is now the most successful horror series of all time. Go to Source
