Heavy rainfall has once again disrupted normal life across Mumbai, with continuous showers since Sunday morning triggering widespread waterlogging and transport disruptions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert, warning of intense rainfall, strong winds of 30–40 kmph, and rough sea conditions. Several areas, including Lower Parel, Matunga, Mahalaxmi, Wadala, Dadar, Vasai-Virar and Juhu, witnessed flooded roads, slowing traffic and affecting daily life. Rainwater also accumulated outside actor Amitabh Bachchan’s residence, Jalsa, while railway tracks at Wadala and Dadar were submerged, disrupting local train services. In Ghatkopar, a fallen tree damaged several vehicles, and in Navi Mumbai, a balcony slab collapse caused panic. Along Mumbai’s Coastal Road, high waves and reduced visibility created dangerous conditions for motorists and pedestrians. Authorities have advised residents to avoid unnecessary travel and stay away from the seafront. Emergency agencies remain on high alert as heavy rainfall is expected to continue, increasing the risk of further flooding across the city.
