Who is Mokksha? ‘Gatta Kusthi 2′ actress stealing fans’ attention

Who is Mokksha? Meet the 'Appadi Podu' dancing breakout star stealing the spotlight in Vishnu Vishal’s 'Gatta Kusthi 2'

‘Gatta Kusthi 2’ opened on a good note after its theatrical release, and the audience is enjoying its entertaining mix of comedy, action and emotions. While Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi are being praised for their performances, another face of the film has gone unnoticed and become the talk of social media. Actress Mokksha, who plays the character of Meenu, a teacher who impresses Veera (Vishnu Vishal) with her graceful screen presence and a notable dance number on Vijay’s ‘Appadi Podu’ turns out to be one of the biggest surprises in the film. Her performance has left many viewers asking the same question: Who is Mokksha?

From ‘Inga Naan Thaan Kingu’ to ‘Gatta Kusthi 2’: Mokksha’s cinema journey

‘Gatta Kusthi 2’ has introduced Mokksha to a wider Tamil audience, but this is not her first outing in the industry. Earlier, she was paired with ‘Angadi Theru’ actor Mahesh in ‘Inga Naan Thaan Kingu’, but that film did not give her the break she was looking for. With ‘Gatta Kusthi 2,’ the actress has finally gotten the recognition she was waiting for. Her performance as Meenu has been loved by the audiences, and the film is being called a turning point for the actress in her Tamil cinema journey.

A teacher, dancer, and actress with experience across industries

Born Pritha Sengupta in Barrackpore, West Bengal, Mokksha completed her studies before entering the film industry. She is a Psychology graduate and worked as a school teacher along with her dance teaching. A trained Bharatanatyam, Kathak, and Odissi dancer, she later moved into acting in films in multiple languages. She made her Telugu debut with Lucky Lakshman and went on to work in films such as ‘Neethone Nenu’, ‘I Hate You’, ‘Alanaati Ramachandrudu’ and ‘Ramam Raghavam’. Then she acted in the horror film ‘Chithini’ after winning over the Malayalam audience with ‘Kallanum Bhagavathiyum’. She has acted in Bengali films and web series and is a familiar face in different industries.

Social media frenzy and a promising future

Mokksha is now popular not only in movies but also in dance performances and on social media. In 2024, she was part of a powerful street dance performance in Kolkata, which went viral on social media. On Instagram, her glamorous and traditional photos receive maximum attention, and her fan following is steadily increasing. With ‘Gatta Kusthi 2’ bringing her into the limelight, it looks like Mokksha has got the breakthrough she was looking for. Filmmakers and the audience are noticing the actress for her promising talent, and industry watchers say she could soon get more offers in Tamil cinema. Go to Source
