A major development has emerged in the ongoing Ram Temple donation theft controversy, with sources indicating that the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust will hold a crucial meeting on July 6 to decide the fate of the resignations submitted by senior office-bearers Champat Rai and Anil Mishra. According to sources, the Trust is expected to conduct a formal vote on whether to accept the resignations. As per the Trust’s bylaws, a two-thirds majority of the voting members is required for the resignations to be formally accepted. Since Champat Rai and Anil Mishra have already stepped down from their respective positions, the remaining 12 trustees are expected to participate in the voting process. Sources further state that the Trust’s rules permit the removal of an individual only from their official post and responsibilities, not from Trust membership itself. This means that even if Champat Rai is relieved of his role as General Secretary and Anil Mishra is removed from his position, both would continue to remain lifetime members of the Trust. The same provision applies to other office-bearers as well. The Trust currently has 14 members, but with Champat Rai and Anil Mishra having submitted their resignations, only the remaining 12 members will cast their votes during the meeting. The resignations came in the wake of the alleged Ram Temple donation theft case, in which eight accused have been arrested. Questions have been raised regarding whether there was negligence or deliberate oversight in handling the alleged theft of devotees’ offerings. While investigators continue to examine the case, the July 6 meeting is expected to play a significant role in determining the future leadership structure of the Trust.
