Shahid Kapoor is reportedly all set to commence work on filmmaker Amit Ravindranath Sharma’s upcoming theatrical venture, tentatively titled ‘Adal Badal’. Backed by producer Sunir Kheterpal in association with Amazon MGM, the film is expected to go on floors in October.As stated by Mid-Day, reports suggest that Janhvi Kapoor has been cast opposite Shahid in the film. The two previously shared screen space when Janhvi made a special appearance in Shahid’s sci-fi romantic comedy ‘Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya’. If reports are accurate, ‘Adal Badal’ will mark their first full-fledged collaboration as lead actors.As per a source quoted by Bollywood Hungama, “The duo is excited to start shooting. The film is based on the concept of soul swapping and is touted to be a mad-cap entertainer.” Meanwhile, Shahid remains occupied with the production of the second season of Raj & DK’s acclaimed streaming series ‘Farzi’.

Amit Ravindranath Sharma has established himself as one of Hindi cinema’s notable filmmakers with a mix of commercial and critically appreciated projects. He earned widespread recognition for directing the family dramedy ‘Badhaai Ho’ in 2018, which became both a critical and box-office success. He later helmed the sports biographical drama ‘Maidaan’, starring Ajay Devgn, further strengthening his reputation for telling emotionally engaging stories.

According to reports, Shahid Kapoor is said to be charging approximately Rs 18 crore for ‘Adal Badal’. In addition to his upfront fee, the actor has reportedly secured a backend profit-sharing arrangement, allowing him to earn a share of the film’s profits if it performs strongly at the box office.

Shahid Kapoor is riding high on the success of ‘Cocktail 2’, which has emerged as one of Bollywood’s biggest hits of the year. Marking his celebrated return to the romance genre, Shahid’s performance as Kunal has won over audiences, who have praised the character’s charm and emotional depth. According to Money Control, the film has grossed an impressive Rs 143.17 crore worldwide in just 10 days. Powered by a strong second weekend, ‘Cocktail 2’ has also become the third-highest-grossing Bollywood romantic comedy of the post-COVID era.
