Salman is moving out of Galaxy Apartments: Six-storey bungalow is on the way

Salman Khan is moving out of Galaxy Apartments: A new six-storey sea-facing bungalow is on the way

Salman Khan is reportedly moving out of Galaxy Apartments, where his family has lived since 1974. The MCZMA granted clearance on June 16 to build a six-storey sea-facing bungalow in Bandra’s Chimbai area. The move is said to be linked to repeated threats from Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang.

For over five decades, Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, Mumbai, has held a very special place in the hearts of the Khan family. Salim Khan, the legendary screenwriter behind Sholay, moved into the first floor of the building back in 1974 along with his wife Salma Khan and their five children. Over the years, most of the children flew the nest and settled elsewhere, but Salman chose to stay back and continues to live there with his parents to this day. But change is on the horizon for the family. A recent report revealed that Salman is currently building a stunning six-storey sea-facing independent bungalow that will serve as the family’s new home in the near future.

Salman Khan’s new bungalow gets official clearance

According to Hindustan Times, the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) granted the Khan family the green light on June 16 to construct a residential tower in Chimbai, Bandra, a location just a short distance away from their current home at Galaxy Apartments. The report further revealed that the plot on which the new property will come up was bought back in 2011 by Salman’s mother, Salma, also known as Sushila Charak.

Lawrence Bishnoi gang threats pushed Salman Khan to move

The decision to move to a new home is said to be connected to the threats that Salman has been receiving from Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. The situation got worse in 2024 when four bullets were fired at Galaxy Apartments, after which the family had to seal the famous balcony that fans had always loved. The new bungalow is said to have much better security arrangements to keep the family safe.

The history behind Salman Khan’s new plot in Bandra

The plot that Salma purchased originally belonged to Mary Clotilda Baptista and changed hands a few times before the Khan family finally bought it in 2011. The property had a two-storey bungalow on it, but since the structure had fallen into a very poor condition over the years, the family decided to demolish it.

Salman Khan yet to confirm the news; here’s what’s next on the work front

Neither Salman nor any member of his family has responded to or confirmed the news so far. On the professional front, Salman has completed the shoot of ‘Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace’, though a release date for the film is yet to be announced. He is currently busy shooting for ‘SVC 63’, which also stars Nayanthara. Go to Source
