Italian luxury carmaker Automobili Lamborghini on Thursday reported a decline in production and vehicle emissions alongside progress in workplace and governance practices in its latest sustainability report released on Thursday.

The report titled ‘Sustainability Report for 2025’, said emissions from its production site (Scope 1 and 2) fell 9 per cent year-on-year to 27,122 tonnes of CO2 equivalent in 2025, while overall value chain emissions (Scope 3) declined 15 per cent.

On the product side, the firm said the completion of its hybrid transition contributed to a 40 per cent reduction in tailpipe CO2 emissions compared with its 2024 fleet average.

“We are working to ensure that what was once an industrial objective becomes a method applied across the entire value chain,” said Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO.

The company said it has expanded measurement of environmental impact across its operations, including lifecycle assessment of vehicles and emissions from inbound logistics, as part of efforts to improve transparency and identify areas for further reduction.

Matteo Ortenzi, Chief Strategy Officer, said lifecycle assessment represents a shift in evaluating vehicle impact. “It means measuring the impact of a model throughout its entire life cycle, not only during the use phase,” he said.

On the operations front, Lamborghini said 77 per cent of waste generated at its plant is now recovered, while new water recycling systems helped save around 8,000 cubic metres of water during the year.

The report also highlighted workforce growth, with employee numbers crossing 3,000 for the first time, and continued focus on inclusion and workplace standards, including certification for gender equality.

The company said sustainability considerations are increasingly being integrated into governance and decision-making processes, including linking part of management incentives to environmental and social targets.

Lamborghini said its sustainability strategy will continue to focus on integrating environmental, social and governance priorities across product development, manufacturing and supply chains.
