Mumbai’s monsoon has arrived with heavy rainfall, causing widespread waterlogging and severe disruption across the city. Amid the rain-related chaos, a shocking murder was reported inside a Mumbai local train. According to railway police sources, 22-year-old Mayank Lohar was allegedly stabbed to death following an argument over closing a train door during heavy rain. The incident took place on a Churchgate–Nalasopara fast local train. The dispute reportedly began after the train reached Andheri station around 10:42 PM. As rain poured outside, two passengers argued over whether the train door should remain open or closed. Police say the accused was carrying a knife in his bag. The argument escalated between Andheri and Borivali stations, and near Kandivali, the accused allegedly attacked Mayank with the knife. When the train reached Borivali, the suspect reportedly escaped before railway police could intervene. Mayank was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries. Meanwhile, Mumbai continues to struggle with intense rainfall. Several low-lying areas, including Sion, Matunga, Dadar, Andheri, Malad, Goregaon, Navi Mumbai, Vasai-Virar, and Thane, witnessed severe waterlogging. Roads, subways, and railway tracks were submerged, slowing traffic and disrupting daily life. The weather department has issued a red alert for Mumbai, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall over the next few days. Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious as flooding, traffic congestion, and transport delays continue to affect the city.
