Days after announcing her separation from husband Suraj Nambiar and requesting privacy, Mouni Roy has shared her thoughts on forgiveness, healing and moving on from people who hurt or disappoint you.In a recent conversation with The Free Press Journal, the actress reflected on how her outlook towards betrayal and resentment has evolved over the years, crediting her personal and spiritual journey for the change.

‘I would forgive, but I wasn’t able to forget’

Mouni revealed that while forgiving others came naturally to her even when she was younger, forgetting the hurt was often much harder.“When I was much younger, I would forgive very easily and till date, I do but I wasn’t able to forget. Now, I think with my own personal and spiritual journey, I feel like you just have to forgive, God makes you forget,” she said. The actress suggested that healing becomes easier when people stop holding on to past wounds and allow themselves to move forward.

‘You will be the one hurting the most’

Explaining why she chooses not to hold on to resentment, Mouni compared it to carrying a burden that ultimately harms the person holding it.“If you don’t let it go, you will be the one who will be hurting the most. And sometimes the other person who hurt you is not even thinking about it, no matter how big a hurt they have caused you,” she said.According to Mouni, practices such as meditation, chanting and spirituality have helped her find peace and perspective over time.

‘I’m not calling the person evil’

While advocating forgiveness, the actress clarified that she is not suggesting people should ignore harmful behaviour.“There are some evil people who will go out of their way to hurt you. I’m not calling the person evil, but I’m calling their qualities evil,” she explained. Go to Source
