GV Prakash shares excitement over first full Hindi album ‘Nayi Naveli’

GV Prakash reveals plans for Hindi cinema, composer shares excitement over first full Hindi album 'Nayi Naveli'

After building a successful career in Tamil and Telugu cinema, GV Prakash Kumar is now preparing for an important new chapter in Bollywood. The composer has taken charge of the complete soundtrack for ‘Nayi Naveli,’ produced by Aanand L Rai and directed by Balaji Mohan. While GV Prakash had previously contributed to Hindi cinema through projects such as ‘Gangs of Wasseypur,’ he says this is the first time he is composing an entire album for a Hindi film. The project has already generated interest among music lovers who are eager to hear his work in a new market.

Composer says ‘Nayi Naveli’ songs are in safe hands

Speaking about the project with Variety India, GV Prakash expressed confidence in the film and its music. “I worked on Gangs of Wasseypur earlier because of my friendship with Anurag Kashyap, but ‘Nayi Naveli’ is my first full-fledged Hindi film album,” he said. He added, “I am composing all the songs for the film, and I believe they will turn out beautifully.” The composer was also full of praise for lead actress Yami Gautam. “Yami expresses emotions wonderfully on screen. When an actor can convey feelings so naturally, a composer feels confident that the songs are in safe hands,” he explained.

GV Prakash believes music connects beyond language

GV Prakash also shared his thoughts on working across different film industries. According to him, composing for Hindi films is no different from creating music for Tamil or Telugu cinema. “Every film is a challenge for me. Language does not change my approach,” he said. “I compose every soundtrack as though it is my first project.” The composer also spoke about the importance of traditional film songs. “Lip-synced songs have a special visual appeal. I strongly believe they help a song connect with audiences and become a blockbuster,” he remarked.

GV Prakash responds to fee rumours

The composer also addressed the frequent discussions about the fees he charges for films. “People often assume I charge huge amounts, but that is not true,” he said. “My fee depends on the scale of the project. For smaller films, I charge accordingly, and for bigger productions, the budget is naturally different.” Looking back on his nearly two-decade-long career, GV Prakash said he still approaches every song with fresh energy. Having composed music for more than 120 films already, he hopes to continue the journey and create many more memorable soundtracks in the years ahead. Go to Source
