During the International Yoga Day celebrations in Kolkata, Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in a mass yoga session and encouraged people to adopt simple yoga practices for a healthier lifestyle. Yoga expert Kalpana explained several beginner-friendly asanas, including side stretching, forward bending, and Trikonasana (Triangle Pose), highlighting their benefits for flexibility, posture, blood circulation, and spinal health. The session emphasized that yoga does not require advanced techniques to begin. Simple stretches and basic movements can significantly improve physical well-being. Participants were guided on the correct posture for each exercise to avoid strain and maximize benefits. Trikonasana was showcased as an effective pose for improving body alignment, strengthening hamstrings, enhancing blood circulation, and supporting lower back health. The event also featured participation from leaders and celebrities across the country, reinforcing the message that yoga should be practiced regularly as part of a healthy daily routine rather than only on Yoga Day.
