Earlier this week, a statue was inaugurated in honour of the legendary and iconic musician Ozzy Osbourne. The event took place at France’s Hellfest. While many people attended, his wife, Sharon Osbourne, could not attend due to a brief health scare.
Sharon Osbourne says she unexpectedly had to go to the hospital
On her social media account, the 73-year-old admitted she regrets missing the Hellfest event; however, an unexpected doctor’s visit that same day caused the issue. The caption in her post further read, “I’m sorry I couldn’t be at Hellfest for the unveiling of Ozzy’s statue. Unfortunately, I had an unexpected trip to the hospital earlier in the week. A big thank you to Olivier Garnier, Ben Barbaud and everyone at Hellfest. Special thank you to @philippe_pasqua_officiel for the absolutely stunning statue! (prayer hand emoji).”The post was shared along with a video of the unveiling of Ozzy Osbourne’s statue at Hellfest. Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76. He had been suffering from coronary problems and had also been diagnosed with Parkinson’s. He passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest. Sharon Osbourne did not provide other details about what happened or why she unexpectedly visited the hospital. Before this, she made headlines after it was revealed that an AI (artificial intelligence) avatar of the late singer would soon be created. To provide fans with an authentic experience, the avatar will be trained and will use models of the singer’s voice to respond from a selected set of instances.Their son, Jack Osbourne, had also spoken in favour of digitising his father’s legacy, though the decision has been met with backlash on online social media platforms, with many people calling the move unnecessary.
Sharon Osbourne’s last visit to the hospital
The last time the 73-year-old ended up in the hospital was in 2022 when she fainted while filming. When she featured on ‘The Talk’ to candidly open up about what happened, Osbourne shared that “It was the weirdest thing. I was doing some filming, and suddenly they told me that I [passed out] for 20 minutes. And I was in the hospital, I went to one hospital, they took me to another hospital, and I did every test over two days, and nobody knows why.”Before this, she had also admitted that she had to be hospitalised after testing positive for the COVID-19. Other than that, she is also currently in remission after being diagnosed with colon cancer and receiving extensive treatment for the disease.
