Elon Musk's ex-partner Ashley St. Clair reveals why she rejected $40 million to keep relationship private: 'I would rather...'

Ashley St. Clair reveals why she rejected Elon Musk’s $40 million offer

Ashley St. Clair has claimed she rejected a multi-million-dollar non-disclosure agreement (NDA) offered after the birth of her son, whom she says she shares with Elon Musk. Ashley said she chose principle over money.Speaking on the Don Lemon Show podcast, the 27-year-old influencer claimed that Musk’s representatives offered her a financial package worth tens of millions of dollars in exchange for keeping their relationship and child private.”It was a shock, especially the way in which [the NDA] was presented over disappearing Signal messages,” St. Clair said during the interview.According to St. Clair, the proposal was first put forward through Musk’s wealth manager, Jared Birchall. She claimed the arrangement initially involved a large upfront payment before later being tied to a confidentiality agreement.”Originally, Elon had sent a message to me and Jared that said, ‘Wire Ashley $15 million for a home and reserve capital,’ and that was it,” she alleged. “A few days later, Jared has this two-hour-long phone call with me, where he’s [saying] basically there’s going to have to be some sort of NDA.” St. Clair said she objected to the idea and maintained hee position even after a larger financial offer was put forward. She claimed Musk later offered her “$15 million and $100,000 per month for 20 years” if she agreed to remain silent about the relationship.”I was never to disparage Elon. I was never to speak about anything, including his employees, his affiliates, nothing,” she claimed. She added: “I replied to Jared and said, ‘I cannot in good conscience sign this.'”The influencer has two children including an older child from a previous relationship. She said her decision was based on what she believed was best for her family.”It wasn’t what was right for [my] children,” she said. She added: “[I was] making the moral decision. I had said to him, ‘I would rather go to a studio apartment with both of my children than sign this.'”St. Clair first publicly identified Musk as the father of her son, Romulus, in February 2025. At the time, she said the child was five months old. Weeks later, Musk confirmed the birth of another son with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis, bringing the billionaire’s number of children to 14.The dispute between Musk and St. Clair has since become public. St. Clair has claimed that her relationship with the Musk changed after she became pregnant.Last month, she told followers on TikTok: “As soon as I’m pregnant, this is when things start getting weird.”She added:”There’s just things that are not adding up or that are different from what he previously said to me.”Musk has previously disputed some of St. Clair’s claims. In March 2025, he said he had already provided her with “$2. 5M and [was] sending her $500k/year.”. The two have since become involved in legal proceedings.During her conversation with The Lemon, St. Clair also confirmed that she has not spoken directly with Musk since rejecting the NDA.This comes as Musk recently became the world’s first trillionaire.
