‘Only Murders in the Building’ Season 6 is bringing together a large group of British and Irish stars as the Hulu mystery comedy moves its central investigation to London. Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez will return as Charles-Haden Savage, Oliver Putnam, and Mabel Mora. The amateur detectives will leave New York after a deadly cliffhanger opens a case linked to England. Production is underway in the United Kingdom, but Hulu has not announced a release date.
‘Only Murders in the Building’ Season 6 cast expands
The TV Cave has reported that the recurring guest cast has now grown to 20 actors. Deadline also confirmed that David Tennant, Jodie Whittaker, Nicola Coughlan, Jim Broadbent, Richard Ayoade, Adrian Lukis, and Kathryn Hunter have joined the new season.The latest additions unite two former ‘Doctor Who’ leads, Tennant and Whittaker. Coughlan and Simone Ashley also bring together two stars from ‘Bridgerton’.Other confirmed guests include Jennifer Saunders, Martin Freeman, Jamie Demetriou, Sharon Horgan, Derek Jacobi, Geri Halliwell-Horner, Anjana Vasan, Jane Horrocks, Lesley Nicol, Sean Teale, Amar Chadha-Patel, and Rhea Norwood. Their characters and connections to the murder remain under wraps. Michael Cyril Creighton will return as Howard Morris. Da’Vine Joy Randolph is also expected to reprise her role as Detective Donna Williams and follow the trio across the Atlantic.
London mystery follows Cinda Canning’s cliffhanger
Season 5 ended with rival true-crime podcaster Cinda Canning, played by Tina Fey, becoming the apparent victim of the show’s next murder. Her final storyline carried clues linked to England, giving Charles, Oliver, and Mabel a reason to take their investigation overseas.The sixth season will contain 10 episodes and shift much of the action away from the Arconia, the Manhattan apartment building at the center of the first five seasons. London will serve as the main production base for the upcoming case.Fey is set to appear again despite Cinda’s fate, although the series has not revealed whether the character will feature through flashbacks or another narrative device.Hulu renewed ‘Only Murders in the Building’ for Season 6 after the fifth-season finale in October 2025.
