‘Love & War’ heads into final stretch as Ranbir, Alia, Vicky prepare for song shoot

'Love & War' heads into final stretch as Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal prepare for massive song shoot

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-awaited period drama ‘Love & War’ is steadily moving toward the finish line. Featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal in lead roles, the film has generated significant buzz ever since its announcement. Now, with production entering its final phase, the lead cast is reportedly set to reunite on June 18 for one of the project’s biggest filming schedules.According to a report by Mid-Day, the upcoming schedule revolves around a lavish song sequence that is expected to be filmed across several days. The shoot was initially scheduled to commence on June 8, but preparations behind the scenes required additional time. According to the song sequence is being designed as a spectacle. It was originally set to kick off on June 8 but is now starting on the 18th at Royal Palms. The reports further explained that extensive groundwork was needed before cameras could roll. “The choreography, costumes, and production design have been in preparation for weeks. The scale is enormous, even by Sanjay Leela Bhansali standards. Every frame has been meticulously storyboarded, which is why the shoot was pushed by two weeks. ”

‘Love & War’ release plans shifted

While anticipation around ‘Love & War’ continues to grow, the film’s release timeline has undergone changes. Bhansali had originally planned to bring the film to audiences in the summer of 2026. However, production delays altered those plans, pushing the release to January 21, 2027. Ranbir Kapoor had earlier addressed the postponement during an Instagram Live session, revealing that the film would arrive in cinemas after the release of ‘Ramayana Part One’, which is expected to hit theatres in October. The makers are reportedly taking extraordinary measures to prevent leaks from the set. As per reports, confidentiality agreements have become a major part of the production process. Over 500 NDAs have already been signed or are currently in process, ensuring that information, visuals, or material from the sets do not make their way into the public domain. The strict protocols underline the scale and secrecy surrounding one of Bollywood’s most anticipated productions.

Alia Bhatt looks forward to the collaboration

As stated by Mid-Day, Alia Bhatt recently shared her enthusiasm about being a part of the ambitious project and spoke about the creative combinations the film brings together. Discussing Bhansali’s reunion with Ranbir Kapoor, she said, “I, as an audience, am more excited to see him [Bhansali] and Ranbir collaborate again after so many years. I am like, ‘Wow, what’s that going to be like?’”The actress also expressed excitement about sharing screen space with Vicky Kaushal again. “Vicky and I coming together again; Ranbir and Vicky created magic with ‘Sanju’. So, it is a lot of combinations,” she said.

Busy line-up for Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal

Apart from ‘Love & War’, all three actors have major projects lined up. Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up for the release of ‘Ramayana Part One’, while Alia Bhatt is awaiting the arrival of the spy thriller ‘Alpha’, co-starring Sharvari. Vicky Kaushal, meanwhile, is preparing to begin work on ‘Mahavatar’, where he will portray Chiranjeevi Parashurama. With its star-studded cast, Bhansali’s signature grandeur and an ambitious production scale, ‘Love & War’ remains one of the most closely watched Bollywood projects currently in development.
