World: Trump Warns Iran Over Peace Deal Compliance

Although the United States and Iran have signed a peace agreement, tensions remain high as both sides continue exchanging warnings and accusations. President Donald Trump warned that Washington would return to confrontation if Tehran violated the deal, stressing that sanctions relief depends on Iran’s behavior. Iran, however, insisted that the agreement does not erase past grievances or absolve the US of previous actions. Trump also dismissed reports claiming the US would pay Iran $300 million in war compensation, calling them “fake news” and accusing political opponents of spreading propaganda. Disagreements persist over issues such as funding, sanctions, and navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, with Iran maintaining it may impose tolls after a temporary exemption period. Trump also expressed interest in addressing the Lebanon conflict, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ruled out withdrawing troops from Lebanon, citing ongoing threats from Iran and Hezbollah. Separately, a US Air Force B-52 bomber crashed shortly after takeoff in California’s Mojave Desert, killing all eight people on board.
