The 52nd G7 Summit is set to begin in Evian, France, bringing together leaders of the world’s most powerful economies to discuss major global challenges. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the summit as a special invitee, representing India and advocating for the interests of the Global South and developing nations. A key highlight of the event is the expected bilateral meeting between PM Modi and U.S. President Donald Trump on June 17. The talks are considered significant amid recent trade-related differences between India and the United States and are expected to focus on strengthening strategic ties. The summit agenda includes discussions on global economic stability, multilateral cooperation, artificial intelligence security, and the ongoing conflict in West Asia. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz and regional security concerns are expected to dominate deliberations. France, as the host nation, has also invited several Middle Eastern countries for special consultations aimed at exploring diplomatic efforts to promote peace and stability across the region.
