Nivetha Pethuraj made her debut with the film ‘Oru Naal Koothu’ in 2016, which brought her immense recognition through her outstanding acting talent. She has been in several Tamil and Telugu films, including ‘Tik Tik Tik,’ ‘Sangathamizhan,’ ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo,’ and ‘Das Ka Dhamki.’ Nevertheless, even though Nivetha has received some fame owing to her performances, she has been involved in other projects, which created an impression on others that she had retired from the movie industry. Nivetha Pethuraj reveals why she considered leaving cinema

Speaking at an event for ‘Sing Geetham,’ Nivetha made an emotional revelation about her career. “In 2023, I decided to quit films,” she said, surprising many fans. As reported by News 18, the actress explained that certain decisions in life had taken her to unexpected places. “Because of some wrong decisions, life took me to places I never expected,” she shared. However, fate had different plans, as she eventually became part of director Singeetam Srinivasa Rao’s project.

Actress credits Nag Ashwin for her return to cinema

Nivetha Pethuraj expressed gratitude to producer Nag Ashwin for giving her another opportunity in films. “I am thankful to Nag Ashwin for believing in me,” she said. The actress even revealed how close she was to leaving the industry behind. “If he had not called me for this film, I would probably have gone to the Himalayas,” she remarked, drawing laughter and applause from the audience.
