'Main Vaapas Aaunga' box office collection Day 1: Imtiaz Ali's movie takes a slim lead over 'Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata'

Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ has been released in cinemas on June 12, 2026. The film features Diljit Dosanjh, Sharvari, Vedang Raina, and Naseeruddin Shah in the lead roles. The movie is inspired by the stories of real people during the Partition of India. It opened to mixed reviews from the audience, with everyone praising the performances delivered by the actors. ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ box office collection Day 1

The team of the Imtiaz Ali directorial extensively promoted the movie on various platforms. On the opening day, the Diljit starrer was screened across 2,302 screens in the country. Despite that, according to the Sacnilk report, the film has managed to earn Rs 1.15 crore at the box office on Day 1. With that, the total India net collection is Rs 1.15 crore, while the total India gross collection stands at Rs 1.38 crore.As per the same report, the overall occupancy of the film on Day 1 was 12.22%.

Stiff competition at the box office

‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ clashed with ‘Bharata Bhhagya Viddhaata’ at the box office. From the collection report, the Imtiaz Ali-directed movie is ahead of the Kangana Ranaut starrer by a small margin. It has earned Rs 1 crore on Day 1. On the other hand, the Diljit Dosanjh movie also locked horns with Manoj Bajpayee’s ‘Governor’. It is sharing screens with ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ and ‘He-Man and the Masters of the Universe’ as well.
