Helen Mirren denies tension with Tom Hardy amid ‘MobLand’ claims

Helen Mirren denies tension with Tom Hardy amid ‘MobLand’ firing claims: 'I love Tom, I think he’s the most amazing actor'

In a striking show of solidarity, Helen Mirren has come to Tom Hardy’s defense amid swirling rumors about ‘MobLand’ turmoil, showering accolades on his exceptional acting prowess. She conveyed her excitement for another project together, countering reports of tension on set and casting doubt on claims of Hardy’s potential exit.

Helen Mirren has pushed back against rumors of tension with her ‘MobLand’ co-star Tom Hardy after reports claimed he clashed with producers and faced an uncertain future on the Paramount+ crime drama. The Oscar-winning actress praised Hardy in a new interview and said she would work with him again without hesitation. Her comments came after weeks of claims about on-set friction, late arrivals, script disputes, and speculation about whether Hardy had been fired from the series.

Helen Mirren backs Tom Hardy amid ‘MobLand’ rumors

ComicBookMovie reported that Mirren first publicly showed support for Hardy on social media after rumors of his exit spread. The site ActionNewz. com noted that she posted a photo of Hardy and wrote, “Love you now and always.”Mirren later addressed the claims more directly in comments to Variety. Asked if she would work with Hardy again if ‘MobLand’ returned for a third season, she said, “Absolutely. In a [frick]ing heartbeat.”“I love Tom, I think he’s the most amazing actor,” Mirren told Variety. “Different actors have different processes. I’ve learnt over the years that some people get to things faster. As long as what’s on the screen is fantastic, I’m totally chilled with however someone gets there. Tom is a very special person. I think he’s absolutely remarkable. My support of him is genuine and heartfelt.”

Tom Hardy’s future on ‘MobLand’ remains fluid

The reports began after industry insider Matt Belloni at Puck said Hardy had been fired from ‘MobLand’ after repeated clashes with producers. The claims included alleged lateness, unwanted script notes, and changes to dialogue.Variety later reported that Hardy had not actually been fired, though it said he did clash with producers. The outlet also reported that talks were underway to find a way for Hardy to return as gangster fixer Harry Da Souza.A source quoted by Variety claimed, “He refused to come out of his trailer for hours at a time. He kept the cast waiting, [which is] a power play. Keeping Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren and others waiting is career suicide, I would wager.”‘MobLand’ stars Hardy, Mirren, Pierce Brosnan and Paddy Considine. The Paramount+ series launched last spring and became the streamer’s second most-watched series.
