Times Priyanka Chopra spoke about her late father

Times Priyanka Chopra spoke about her late father: 'He was my biggest cheerleader, the loudest guy in the room'

Priyanka Chopra might have been one of the biggest actors in the world, but in her heart, she will always be her “Daddy’s lil girl.” Over the years, the 43-year-old has expressed her admiration, respect, and close bond with her father. To commemorate his meaningful memories, she inspired herself to draw a tattoo about him on her hand. The actress has been emotive about her father, remembering him at every milestone and honoring him at the interviews. When Priyanka Chopra said that her father would have chosen Nick Jonas for her

Priyanka Chopra has tied the knot with Nick Jonas, the renowned singer from the Jonas Brothers band. While the singer has also carved his own songs and art during the band’s hiatus, he has also acted in films, including the ‘Jumanji’ franchise, the ‘Camp Rock’ franchise, ‘Midway,’ ‘Goat,’ and many more. After being married for almost a decade, the couple continues to shine brightest on the internet, sharing an innate bond. They also have a 4-year-old daughter, Malti Marie Chopra. “Nick is exactly the kind of person my dad would have picked for me if he had a choice,” she said during her interview with Mythical Kitchen’s Last Meals, before adding, “My dad’s first love was music. He loved music. He loved singing it. He loved listening to it. He loved admiring the artistry behind it.” “More than anything, Nick is a really wise soul, a wise person,” she continued, mentioning that the singer is a prodigy in his craft, and said, “and I think that he would have wanted someone like that for me, because that ain’t me.”

When Priyanka Chopra spoke about feeling her father’s absence

In all of Priyanka Chopra’s filmography, one film that stands out as poignant, wholesome, and altruistic is ‘The Sky Is Pink.’ “I was getting married during this movie and I missed my dad so much at that time,” she said per Vogue, mentioning the film, and continued, “I missed his presence so much, knowing that my mom would be doing it all alone, when it was all that my dad wanted and would keep saying ‘Main suit kab silwaau, main suit kab silwaau’. It was very prevalent in my brain at that time, and this definitely help me heal.”

Shooting the film helped her deal with the emotions that she could not face before. “I don’t think I knew how to deal with all the emotions I was feeling. Under the tutelage of Shonali [Bose], I was playing Aditi and understanding that death is the most natural thing that we know will happen to each one of us. Instead of mourning the person you have lost, you celebrate the life that was lived,” she said of the time that she was thinking about him.

When Priyanka Chopra talked about how her father told her to be fierce

Priyanka Chopra claimed all girls should be fierce during an interview with India Today. “It’s very important for us to find agency, find our voice very early. It’s important for us to be surrounded by confidence,” she said. Talking about how the mindset was formed, she revealed that it was encouraged at her home. “My dad used to always tell me to be the fiercest one in the room, and not be afraid if someone tells you that you’re too fierce, because that’s what happens to girls,” she stated. Calling out the society for their disparaging remarks when any woman tries to be fierce, she continued, “We are told we are too tenacious, too ambitious, too fierce, too intelligent, but men are called like, what a boss.”

“He was just like so excited about everything I did. And when he died, it was just quiet in that corner, you know. In that corner of cheer. Even though I have a very supportive family, they weren’t all as rambunctious as him,” she stated, before mentioning that she lied to him about the tattoo. “I lied to him and I told him I needed to write this down because I wanted it for artwork for my album. But he wrote it in his handwriting and it’s my first tattoo,” Priyanka Chopra claimed. Priyanka’s father, Ashok Chopra, was a physician and surgeon who served in the Indian Army Medical Corps, retiring as Lieutenant Colonel. He passed away in January 2013 after battling cancer for several years. Go to Source
