‘You talk nonsense’: Ashoke Pandit reacts to Kangana’s comments on FWICE’s ban

'You talk nonsense': Ashoke Pandit reacts to Kangana Ranaut's comments regarding FWICE's non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh

The ongoing dispute between Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar regarding ‘Don 3’ continues to remain the talk of the town. After Farhan approached the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE), they put a ban on him which is now revoked. But the topic continues to generate reactions from across the film industry. At the trailer launch of her film, ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhata’ Kangana showed her support towards Ranveer Singh and now FWICE chief advisor and filmmaker Ashoke Pandit has responded to the actor-politician’s comments.Pandit expressed disappointment over what he believes is a widespread misunderstanding of the issue. According to him, several members of the film fraternity have weighed in on the matter without knowing the complete facts behind the federation’s actions.“A lot of people in the industry have started abusing us. Yesterday, Kangana also said something. We are not understanding the whole issue, and people are just commenting. Kangana also said that even I have been banned by the industry. I said, ‘You talk nonsense, that’s why I banned you.’ I don’t care. There is a big issue of the industry here. You don’t even know the issue. You are just saying things. We are not against Ranveer. We are talking about what has happened,” Pandit said in a conversation with HT City. He reiterated that FWICE’s position is not aimed at Ranveer Singh as an individual. Instead, he argued that the federation’s intervention is linked to broader concerns regarding professional commitments and the potential impact such situations can have on producers, workers, and technicians involved in a project. He stressed that people should first understand the details of the case before publicly taking sides. His remarks came after Kangana Ranaut addressed the controversy during the trailer launch event of her upcoming film, *Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata*. When asked about the non-cooperation directive against Ranveer, Kangana drew comparisons to her own experiences in the industry and suggested that criticism often accompanies success.“You are asking me, I have been banned by everybody! (smiles) Toh main ye kehna chahungi ki jab haisiyat badhti hai to dushman bhi badhte hain. Toh ab aisa nahi ho sakta ki aapki haisiyat badhey aur dushman na badhe. Toh aaj Ranveer Singh ko sochna chahiye ki unki kya haisiyat ki unke itne dushman hain! Toh achcha hain… zindagi mein jab aap aagey badhte hain toh kai tarah ke obstacles aatey hain you can’t have a smooth walk always. Toh mere saath toh itna hua hain toh look, today I am doing well. Meri bhi achchi gaadi chal hi rahi hain. Toh okay kuch nahi farak padta, everything is going to be fine eventually,” she had said. The controversy originated after reports emerged of Ranveer Singh’s exit from *Don 3*, the next chapter in the popular franchise backed by Excel Entertainment. FWICE has stated that filmmaker Farhan Akhtar approached the federation claiming that the actor’s departure caused substantial financial losses, as significant pre-production work had already been undertaken.Following the complaint, FWICE issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer. However, the federation has consistently maintained that it has not imposed a ban on the actor. According to FWICE, its actions are focused on addressing larger concerns surrounding accountability, contractual commitments, and the welfare of industry workers rather than targeting any individual artist.
