Tensions in the Middle East have escalated sharply following a new round of confrontation between the United States and Iran. According to reports, the crisis intensified after U.S. forces carried out airstrikes on Iran’s strategic Qeshm Island near the Strait of Hormuz, reportedly targeting a military ground-control station and communication facilities. In response, Iran launched missile and drone attacks against multiple locations in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Iraq, countries that host American military installations. Iran reportedly targeted Kuwait’s Ali Al Salem Air Base using ballistic missiles and Shahed drones. Kuwaiti authorities stated that their air defense systems, including Patriot missile batteries, intercepted the incoming threats. Similar attacks were reported in Bahrain, where officials said air defenses successfully countered missiles and drones aimed at areas near Manama, home to a major U.S. naval facility. Following the attacks, Bahrain and Kuwait temporarily suspended air traffic and closed portions of their airspace. The developments have raised fears of a wider regional conflict, with concerns growing that the Gulf region could face a new and potentially devastating military escalation.
