Shiva Rajkumar nearly quit ‘Peddi’ after cancer diagnosis

Shiva Rajkumar reveals he once considered opting out of Ram Charan starrer ‘Peddi’: Find out why

Shiva Rajkumar had to travel to the US after he was diagnosed with cancer which remains a difficult phase in his life. Ahead of the release of Ram Charan starrer ‘Peddi’ where he the Kannada veteran revealed how due to his health issue he considered stepping away from the film.Shiva Rajkumar shared that given his health situation the actor felt that it will be difficult to commit to the project due its demanding schedule with the film being a large scale entertainer. This led him to think that he would back out from the project. However, ‘Peddi’ insisted on his presence in the film. He revealed that the director Buchi Babu Sana said that they were willing to wait for him to fully recover. The ‘Jailer’ actor expressed his gratitude to the team for being generous and said working on the film made it more special.

In addition to it, Shiva Rajkumar also talked about the script of the film, praising its writing and storytelling. He mentioned that he was immediately drawn to the film during his first narration by Buchi Babu Sana. He also described how the story presents human emotions and life experiences in a natural and relatable manner. He was so fascinated with the story that Shiva Rajkumar also spoke with Ram Charan on the same day.

In the film, Shiva Rajkumar will be seen as Gournaidu. His first look poster shows him in a light-shaded shirt and white pants. He has multiple rings on his hands and a thick moustache, which seems to portray a man who looks like the chief of his group and has a solid command.

Cast of ‘Peddi’

‘Peddi’ also stars Janhvi Kapoor, Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu, Ravi Kishan and Boman Irani. The music is composed by AR Rahman.It is set to release on June 4.
