Maruti Suzuki VictorisMaruti Suzuki India (MSIL) reported its highest-ever monthly domestic sales in May 2026, selling 1,93,535 vehicles, a growth of 39.5 per cent compared with 1,38,690 units in the corresponding month last year.
The country’s largest carmaker also recorded its highest-ever total monthly sales volume, with dispatches rising 34.8 per cent year-on-year to 2,42,688 units, including exports and sales to other OEMs, compared to 1,80,077 units last year.
Domestic passenger vehicle sales stood at 1,90,337 units during the month, up from 1,35,962 units a year earlier, while light commercial vehicle sales increased to 3,198 units from 2,728 units.
The utility vehicle segment continued to drive growth, with sales of models such as the Brezza, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Ertiga, XL6 and Invicto rising 44.4 per cent to 79,267 units from 54,899 units in May 2025.
Passenger car sales, comprising mini, compact and mid-size models, surged 42.3 per cent to 97,830 units. Within this category, sales of compact and mid-size models, including the Baleno, Swift, WagonR, Dzire and Celerio, rose to 81,555 units from 61,960 units a year earlier.
Van sales, led by the Eeco, grew modestly to 13,240 units, up from 12,327 units in May 2025.
Exports rose 34.3 per cent to 41,914 units from 31,219 units a year ago, while sales to other OEMs stood at 7,239 units.
For the first two months of FY27, Maruti Suzuki’s domestic sales, including LCVs, increased 37 per cent to 3,84,657 units, while total sales crossed 4.82 lakh units, compared with 3.60 lakh units in the corresponding period of FY26.
