‘Drishyam 3’ star Mohanlal has also explored many interests apart from acting over the years. Apart from entertainment, Mohanlal has also developed a strong interest in sustainable living practices. Farming gradually became one of his important passions and later gained widespread attention among fans.

Interest in farming began years ago

Although many people noticed his farming activities during the lockdown period, Mohanlal’s connection with agriculture reportedly started much earlier. Kerala Kaumudi reports suggest that he began growing vegetables on land near his residence in Elamakkara (Kaloor), Ernakulam district, Kerala, during the mid-2010s. During the lockdown years of 2020 and 2021 the ‘Lucifer’ actor spent more time focusing on farming activities and expanding the green space. The half-acre property slowly transformed into an area filled with various crops and plants.

A variety of crops found space in Mohanlal’s garden

Mohanlal’s farming area includes several vegetables and plants grown through organic methods. Reports suggest that the property cultivates crops such as bitter gourd, beans, ladyfinger, tomatoes, green chilies, ash gourd, pumpkin, corn and tapioca. The farm’s produce also became part of his everyday lifestyle. Whenever the actor spends time at his residence, he reportedly uses vegetables harvested directly from the garden for daily meals. The initiative attracted attention because of its emphasis on natural farming practices.

‘Ram’ actor encouraged others to grow vegetables

Mohanlal earlier shared a video that offered fans a look inside his farming activities. In the footage, he was seen walking around the cultivated area while interacting with his gardener and inspecting different crops. The actor was also seen harvesting vegetables from various sections of the garden. In the Instagram video, Mohanlal encouraged more people to begin growing food at home, even in small spaces. He said, “All of us can grow vegetables. You can also grow them in your terrace in small carry bags.” The actor also revealed that additional herbs and new plant varieties were regularly added to expand cultivation.Former Kerala Agriculture Minister VS Sunil Kumar had also appreciated Mohanlal’s initiative and praised its role in encouraging chemical-free farming.

‘Drishyam 3’ continues strong box office performance

Meanwhile, Mohanlal is also enjoying a successful run in theatres with ‘Drishyam 3’. The mystery drama directed by Jeethu Joseph has continued to maintain steady momentum at the box office during its second weekend. According to Sacnilk trade figures, the film earned Rs 5.35 crore net on Day 11. The latest figure reflected a 4.9 percent rise compared to Day 10 earnings of Rs 5.10 crore. ‘Drishyam 3’ has now reached Rs 96.70 crore in India net collections.
