Recently, the veteran actor attended the Madison FYC Panel in Los Angeles, where he finally opened up about living in Colorado. The actor had been in LA for a large chunk of his life; however, he made the decision to shift to Colorado with his partner, Goldie Hawn. For the unversed, the two of them have been living there since Russell was 26 years old, and even built their lodge cabin in the area from the ground up.While talking to PEOPLE, the actor shared that moving to Colorado has allowed him to live life the way he wants to. He also quipped that he gets to do the things that he “want(s) to do on a day-to-day basis.” Further adding to the matter, he stated, “What I want to look at, what I want to be a part of — all the things that Colorado has to offer. I wanted to eventually get into the ranching life.”He also shared that he and Goldie have successfully created a beautiful life for themselves, and that after building a ranch, their entire family grew up here, which was over 40 years ago.

During the interview, he also opened up about how and why he made the decision to leave. He stated that he was simply doing what he wanted to do at the time. Not only that, but the actor also shared that since moving away from LA in the showbiz was not common at all at the time, many people had told him that it was the end of his career.Further detailing on the matter, he shared that “I wasn’t escaping. I was just living where I live. I was fortunate that it really didn’t make any difference. But when I did it, nobody else was doing that. I had many people tell me, ‘Well, that’s goodbye. That’s it.’ I said, ‘Well, we’ll see.’”Over the years, the 75-year-old actor has shared time and time again that his property in Colorado is his happy place and that he is very happy living there. In March, while talking to Fox News, the actor had even listed out the things he liked about his home there, citing, “What I enjoy most is that [Hawn] really likes it in Colorado. Wyatt (his son), Meredith, and their two boys, they live in Colorado now. So we like to spend as much time there as we can.” Go to Source
