India’s D Gukesh defeated R Praggnanandhaa in an all-Indian clash in Round 5 of Norway Chess 2026 to secure his first classical win of the tournament and climb to third in the standings behind leader Alireza Firouzja and Wesley So. Seven-time champion Magnus Carlsen has dropped to the bottom after yet another loss.
