Joan Cusack returns to red carpet after 11-year break at 'Toy Story 5' premiere in London

Joan Cusack made her first red carpet appearance in over a decade at the ‘Toy Story 5’ premiere in London on Thursday. The actress, who reprised her role as the voice of cowgirl rag doll Jessie, was photographed alongside her co-stars Tom Hanks (Woody) and Tim Allen (Buzz Lightyear) and director Andrew Stanton.

Joan Cusack stuns in stylish black and white at ‘Toy Story 5’ premiere

Cusack, 63, looked elegant in a stylish white dress shirt, which she tucked into a chic black maxi skirt. She gave the look some extra office-smart flair with a pair of thick black-rimmed glasses. Her hair was styled in a bob with eyebrow-length bangs covering her forehead. In addition to her castmates, Cusack stopped for photos with her other co-stars, Greta Lee (Lilypad) and Tony Hale (Forky), as well as her longtime husband, Richard Burke.

Joan Cusack’s last red carpet appearance was in 2015

Cusack was last seen walking a red carpet at the 2015 Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, where she took home a gold statue for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on ‘Shameless’. She was accompanied by her husband for the historic occasion, which marked her first Emmy win.The ‘Saturday Night Live’ alum, who was also the sister of John Cusack, had earned two Academy Award nominations throughout her career. In 1989, she earned a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination for her role in ‘Working Girl’. She pulled off the feat a second time in 1998 for her role in ‘In & Out’.

Joan Cusack stepped away from Hollywood spotlight

After her Emmy win, the actress largely stepped away from the Hollywood spotlight, opting to settle down with Burke and their two sons, Dylan John and Miles, in Chicago. “As my kids would say, ‘Chicago is awesome!’ It has rich culture and history, as well as some of the best museums, architecture and restaurants in the world,” Cusack told The Huffington Post in 2019.”Plus, it prevents our family life from revolving around TV and the movies,” she added. “In LA, it’s easy to get caught up in what you look like or how much money you have, and those aren’t values I want my kids to adopt.”Throughout her career, Cusack had built an impressive body of work including notable roles in films such as ‘National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation’, ‘Grosse Pointe Blank’, and ‘Where the Heart Is’. Her voice in the ‘Toy Story’ franchise remained one of her most beloved and enduring roles. Go to Source
