Kritika Kamra opens up on handling social media trolls

Kritika Kamra opens up on handling social media trolls; says,

Kritika Kamra, who moved from TV to films, faced trolling over her Independence Day post that triggered political debates. She explained how people have become polarized over normal issues and stressed the importance of remembering the struggles behind freedom. Kritika recently completed filming the web series ‘Matka King’.

Kritika Kamra, who has come a long way from TV to films, shared how she dealt with social media trolling, which is very common today, especially for actors. In a recent interview, she recalled receiving negative comments on her Independence Day post, which sparked political debates and discussions.Reflecting on social media reactionsIn a conversation with Bollywood Bubbles, the actress talked about dealing with social media trolls and said, “Sometimes when I feel very strongly, I speak up. But I wish I could say something more detailed or constructive, or engage with someone online, because people have become polarized without reason. Even things that seem very normal to us have now become polarized. I had posted on Twitter on Independence Day. And I generally don’t read the comments, but it was pointed out to me. So I saw the comments below it.”Addressing public offense and misunderstandingThe actress continued, “People were offended, but it’s something very normal. That the ideals on which our country gained independence should not be forgotten. And we should also not forget how difficult it is to uphold those ideals. That was my tweet: Happy Independence Day. What is offensive in that? But the comments started, and negative comments began. And automatically, a political alignment was assumed. Why? I didn’t understand.”Final thoughts on struggle and empathyConcluding, she said, “My simple point at that time was this only, and I have said this while talking to someone—that we have earned our freedom through struggle. We know what it means to be oppressed. We know—you know, we have seen apartheid, famines, that kind of occupation, right? So whenever this happens in our country or anywhere in the world—like what is happening in Gaza right now—we should particularly understand this pain. Because we have become free only after going through it, right? So, we should be the first people to feel their pain.”Recent workOn the work front, Kritika Kamra was last seen in the series Saare Jahan Se Accha: The Silent Guardians and recently completed filming the much-anticipated web series Matka King.
