Live Update: Lord Ganesha’s Grand Immersion Draws Massive Crowds At Girgaon Chowpatty In Mumbai

Lord Ganesha, Mumbai’s most revered deity during Ganesh Utsav, is being given a grand and emotional farewell as thousands of devotees gather at Girgaon Chowpatty for the immersion ceremony. The 10-day festival, celebrated with devotion and joy across Maharashtra, has now reached its conclusion with the traditional visarjan. Before the immersion, elaborate rituals and prayers were conducted, followed by a vibrant Shobha Yatra. The procession saw enthusiastic participation from devotees dancing to the beats of dhol-tasha and singing devotional songs. Drone visuals highlighted the sea of people filling the streets, with chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya” echoing in every direction. The immersion of Lord Ganesha’s idol symbolizes the cycle of creation and dissolution, reminding devotees of spiritual renewal and hope. People from across India and even abroad traveled to Mumbai during Ganesh Chaturthi to seek blessings, making this one of the city’s largest cultural and religious gatherings.Authorities have deployed heavy security at Girgaon Chowpatty to manage the massive crowds and ensure smooth immersion rituals. As the idol of Lord Ganesha is carried into the Arabian Sea, devotees bid farewell with both tears and celebration, eagerly awaiting His return next year.
