Shwetha Menon makes a strong statement on AMMA crisis; Actress ready to step down if seniors ask

Actress Shweta Menon has finally reacted to the growing controversy inside the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). The actress, who is currently serving as the organization’s president, addressed the media after serious allegations made by actress Ansiba Hassan against actor Tiny Tom created fresh tension within the association. Shweta Menon openly admitted that there have been communication gaps inside AMMA and said several issues would be discussed during the upcoming general body meeting. Her emotional and direct statements have now become a major talking point in the Malayalam film industry.

Shweta Menon is ready to step down if seniors ask her to

Speaking openly about the internal problems in AMMA, Shweta Menon said she is willing to step away from the leadership position if senior actors ask her to do so. “If the senior members ask me to move aside, I am ready. But I did not come here to lose,” she said firmly as reported by The Indian Express. The actress also claimed that some people within the executive committee are trying to target and isolate her. “I feel like I am being cornered. That seems to be the agenda,” she added. Shweta further stated that she believes some members still struggle to accept women in leadership positions inside the organisation.

Actress responds to Ansiba Hassan and Tiny Tom’s issue

Reacting to the controversy involving Ansiba Hassan and Tiny Tom, Shweta Menon said the matter appeared to be “planned” and claimed she only learned about the complaint through media reports. “The complaint reached AMMA officially only around 2 PM that day,” she explained. According to Shweta, Ansiba’s resignation letter, as mentioned earlier, was based on personal reasons and did not contain allegations against Tiny Tom. “We tried contacting Ansiba after the complaint surfaced, but she did not answer the phone,” she revealed. Shweta also clarified that the executive committee will examine the issue properly according to AMMA’s rules and procedures.

Shweta Menon defends women leadership and calls for unity

Shweta Menon also spoke emotionally about the challenges faced by women leaders in film organisations. “From the first meeting itself, I realised some people had issues with a woman being in power,” she said. The actress explained that the absence of senior stars like Mammootty and Mohanlal in leadership positions has changed the atmosphere inside the organisation. Despite the criticism and pressure, Shweta insisted that she remains strong and committed to solving the issues within AMMA. She added that the upcoming general body meeting will be very important in addressing all concerns and restoring unity inside the association.
