Diljit Dosanjh's Ludhiana home receives bomb threat email; police deployed after manager's house attack

Days after singer Diljit Dosanjh’s manager Gurpartap Singh Kang’s house was allegedly attacked in Haryana, a bomb threat email targeting Diljit’s Ludhiana residence was sent to the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation. The email, allegedly from the ‘Khalistan National Party’, also threatened the Mayor’s residence. Police have been deployed at the singer’s home.

Just days after the house of singer Diljit Dosanjh’s manager, Gurpartap Singh Kang, was allegedly targeted in a shooting incident in Gonder village in Haryana’s Karnal district, fresh trouble has emerged with a threat to blow up the singer’s residence in Ludhiana. It is worth noting that Diljit does not currently reside at the property. The threat was received via an email sent to the official email address of the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation, which also contained threats to target the Ludhiana Mayor’s residence and office.

Khalistan National Party allegedly sends bomb threat email targeting Diljit Dosanjh’s house

According to TOI city, the threatening email specified that the Ludhiana Mayor’s house would be targeted by 1:11 pm, while Diljit Dosanjh’s residence was threatened to be blown up by 9:11 pm. The email was received at 7:28 am on the official email ID of both the Municipal Corporation and the office of the Ludhiana Municipal Corporation Commissioner, after which the authorities alerted the police. The email was allegedly sent by a group calling itself the ‘Khalistan National Party’.

This development comes after Diljit Dosanjh reportedly confronted pro-Khalistan protesters at a recent concert in Canada, where he asked them to leave the venue after they were spotted waving pro-Khalistan posters.

Police deployed outside Diljit Dosanjh’s Ludhiana home after fresh bomb threat

Following the latest threat, authorities in Ludhiana deployed police personnel outside Dosanjh’s residence as a safety measure, despite the fact that the singer does not stay there. The fresh threat also comes close on the heels of the alleged shooting at the home of his manager Gurpartap Singh Kang on May 13. However, the matter did not result in a formal police complaint, and Haryana Police maintained that no evidence of any firing was discovered at the location.
