US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has arrived in Delhi on a 4-day official visit to India, marking a significant diplomatic engagement between the two countries. He was earlier welcomed in Kolkata, where he also visited Mother Teresa House, before traveling to Delhi. A key highlight of the visit is his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at 2 PM today, followed by a bilateral meeting with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar tomorrow. Rubio will also participate in discussions related to the Quad meeting scheduled on 26 May. The talks are expected to focus on major strategic areas including trade, defence cooperation, energy security, Indo-Pacific strategy, and regional stability, especially amid ongoing global geopolitical tensions. The visit is being seen as more than routine diplomacy, with both sides aiming to strengthen India–US strategic relations and coordinate on global issues.
