‘Jana Nayagan’ producer clarifies Thalapathy Vijay’s film censor

Has 'Jana Nayagan' cleared censor? Producer clarifies the mystery surrounding Thalapathy Vijay's highly anticipated film

Vijay’s highly anticipated film ‘Jana Nayagan’, directed by H. Vinoth, has been facing several problems ahead of its release. The film stars Pooja Hegde as the female lead, while Bobby Deol plays the villain. Actress Mamitha Baiju also plays an important role in the project. From censor troubles to the shocking online leak of the full movie, ‘Jana Nayagan’ has been surrounded by controversy for months. Fans, however, continue to wait eagerly for an official release announcement as this is expected to be Vijay’s final film before his complete political journey begins.

‘Jana Nayagan’ release date will be announced after censor clearance

The latest update came from the film’s producer during his visit to the Arulmigu Subramaniya Swamy Temple in Tiruchendur. After offering prayers at the temple, he met reporters and spoke about the film’s release status. “I came here seeking peace and blessings. ‘Jana Nayagan’ has still not received censor certification, but it could happen at any time,” he said, as reported by Filmibeat. The producer further added, “Once the censor certificate arrives, we will officially announce the release date. It will happen very soon.” He also shared his happiness about Vijay becoming the Chief Minister, but avoided speaking about other issues related to the controversy surrounding the film.

‘Jana Nayagan’ censor issues created confusion around the film’s release

After Vijay entered politics, he announced that ‘Jana Nayagan’ would be his final film before stepping away from cinema. Because of that emotional connection, fans have been waiting closely for every update related to the movie. The makers initially planned to release the film in January and had reportedly completed all preparations. However, the censor board did not grant certification, forcing the production company to approach the court. Even after legal efforts, there was no positive outcome. This delay led many fans to fear that the film might never be released in theatres.

‘Jana Nayagan’ leak became a major shock

The problems increased further when the entire film leaked online a few months ago. The incident shocked both fans and the film industry because the movie had not even received censor approval at that stage. Though a few people were reportedly arrested in connection with the leak, the damage had already created panic among Vijay’s followers. Interestingly, while many people from the industry openly reacted to the issue, Vijay remained silent throughout the controversy. Reports also claimed that Vijay requested the makers not to use “Chief Minister” in the title card and instead continue using the popular “Thalapathy” tag, a move that received positive reactions from fans and the general public alike.
