A sudden change in weather brought relief to residents of Delhi-NCR after several days of intense heat, with temperatures hovering around 44–45°C. Strong winds accompanied by light rain and drizzle were reported across several areas, leading to a noticeable drop in temperature and providing much-needed respite from the ongoing heatwave. According to reports, the change in weather conditions is linked to a western disturbance affecting the region, as predicted earlier by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The system triggered gusty winds and scattered rainfall across the capital region. Residents, who had been struggling with extreme heat and dehydration cases, welcomed the cooler conditions and briefly stepped out to enjoy the weather. While the rain brought immediate relief from the scorching sun, officials noted that humidity levels could still fluctuate in the coming hours. Overall, the unexpected weather shift has offered temporary comfort to people in Delhi-NCR after days of severe heat stress.
