Petrol, diesel, and CNG prices have increased again across India, marking the third hike within just eight days. Petrol has gone up by 87 paise per litre, diesel by 91 paise, and CNG by ₹1 per kg, adding further pressure on consumers already dealing with rising inflation. In major cities, fuel prices have reached new highs, with Delhi petrol nearing ₹100 per litre at ₹99.51, while cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, and others have crossed even higher levels above ₹105–₹110 per litre. Diesel rates have also increased significantly across metros. The continuous rise in fuel prices is expected to have a cascading effect on the economy, increasing transportation costs and potentially making essential goods like vegetables, milk, and other daily commodities more expensive. Common people, especially middle-class families, taxi drivers, and daily commuters, have expressed frustration over the repeated hikes, saying it is becoming increasingly difficult to manage monthly budgets. Experts suggest that global crude oil volatility and international market conditions are contributing to the ongoing price surge, raising concerns about further inflation in the coming days.
