Pocket Novel to star Malvika Mohan and Vijay Sethupathi

Interestingly, ‘Pocket Novel’ also reunites Malavika Mohanan and Vijay Sethupathi after their successful outing in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s 2021 blockbuster Master. While Vijay Sethupathi played the menacing antagonist in the film, Malavika essayed the female lead opposite Thalapathy Vijay, who has now transitioned into politics and was recently appointed the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.Speaking about ‘Pocket Novel’, Vijay Sethupathi remained guarded about the film’s details but hinted at a completely fresh dynamic with Malavika. “I can’t tell you much about ‘Pocket Novel’ right now. All I can say is that Malavika and I share a completely contrasting equation compared to ‘Master’. I am completely done with villainous roles now,” he said to ETimes. The actor also had glowing words for director Thiagarajan Kumararaja, crediting him for giving him one of the most challenging roles of his career. “He gave me my career’s most challenging role in ‘Super Deluxe’, where I played a cross-dresser. My role in ‘Pocket Novel’ will again shock the audience,” Sethupathi added. With Thiagarajan Kumararaja returning to the director’s chair and Vijay Sethupathi promising another unconventional character, ‘Pocket Novel’ is already generating strong curiosity among Tamil cinema.
